Time for a new adventure!
Over three and a half months, between late May and mid-September, we’ll be cycling about 3,700 kilometres (2,300 miles) in what may seem to be an eccentric route from our apartment in Cervinia to a point yet to be determined in Sicily (probably Cefalù). This time we’re not planning the route in advance. We want to take time to meander, to change our minds, to follow the recommendations of local people, to take the odd break.
So the line on the map above is representative of our intentions, but we won’t stick to that route. We’ve compiled a list of places we want to visit – a few places we’ve visited before, many more that we’ve never visited.
We’re very excited about this, and as usual we’ll be posting here every day (barring rest days). This will probably amount to a huge amount of verbiage, so feel free to dip in and out as suits you. We’ll post again on the day we set off, which, at the time of writing, we expect to be May 27th (the day after the Giro d’Italia visits Cervinia).
